Wicketkeeper-batsman Soham Panwalkar (119) along with Mohit Redkar (89) put on a half-century partnership for the seventh wicket against the Kerala bowlers. K. The second day of the Naidu Trophy (Under-25) cricket match saw Goa recover on Wednesday. Replying to 454, Kerala started the day at 149 for two.

Soham and Mohit won the second day of the four-day match at Alur-Bangalore. Goa captain Deepraj Gavkar (114) had scored a century yesterday. Soham then became the second centurion in the innings. After the innings of Goa, Kerala J. Anantakrishnan and Anand Krishnan opened the innings with 72 runs.

Wicketkeeper Soham caught Anand (37) off medium pacer Ritwik Naik. On spin bowler Mohit Redkar's bowling, Soham dismissed rival skipper Vatsal (15). Later, half-centuries Anantakrishnan (69) and Shaun Roger (21) did not allow the team to lose any more. Kerala is still 305 runs behind.

Powerful 154 runs

Soham and Mohit did not appreciate the Kerala bowlers in the Wednesday morning session after Goa started the day at 296 for six. He batted aggressively, knocking out rival bowlers. The duo put on 154 for the seventh wicket off 247 balls. Soham was unbeaten on 51 at the end of the day. Accompanying Mohit, he gave the team a strong lead on Wednesday.

After lunch, Mohit's concentration was disrupted when he needed 11 runs for the century and the pair broke up. Batting aggressively, Mohit scored 89 off 121 balls with 12 fours and a six. Later, Goa lost 4 wickets for 32 runs and the innings came to an end. The last 3 wickets were lost for 13 runs. Soham was dismissed after the team scored four and a half hundred runs. He scored 119 off 251 balls with 15 fours and a six. This was his first century in the BCCI tournament.
