Pickleball, one of the world’s fastest-growing sports, will make its debut in Goa in early January next year, with Margao’s BPS Sports Club, in association with the Goa Pickleball Association and All India Pickleball Association (AIPA), hosting the state’s first-ever All Goa Major Ranking State Pickleball Championship.
FIRST-EVER
Scheduled from January 3 to 5, 2025, the championship aims to bring together pickleball enthusiasts from across the state to compete in various categories, including men’s and women’s open (singles and doubles), men’s 35+ and 50+ (singles and doubles), mixed doubles (open) and mixed doubles (35+).

KNOW ABOUT THE SPORT
BPS Sports Club will be conducting a free introductory workshop, in order to familiarise the sport with potential participants at its premises in Margao on December 22, from 3.30pm onwards.
The workshop will be conducted by coach Willy. It will be open to all individuals interested in learning the fundamentals of pickleball and improving their skills.

WORKING OVERTIME
The organising committee members of the state’s first-ever All Goa Major Ranking State Pickleball Championship, namely Manguirish Kunde, Nihaal Borkar, Anup Sardesai, Ninad Kamat, Wilfred Jaques and Lincoln Furtado are working towards making the event a success and ensuring maximum participation.
