ISL Preview: Kerala Blasters aiming to continue unbeaten streak against Mumbai City

In the eighth season of the Indian Super League (ISL) football tournament, Kerala Blasters have not lost 10 matches in a row while showing abandoned form. While the competition has been hampered due to disruptions in some teams, the Kerala team is clearly showing no sign of stopping. With a win against defending champions Mumbai City on Sunday, their lead will be even stronger.

The match between Kerala Blasters and Mumbai City is scheduled at Tilak Ground in Vasco. After losing the first match of the tournament, Blasters under Ivan Vukomanovic has recorded five wins and five draw. They have 20 points after 11 matches and is in the lead.

Mumbai City's recent bad form saw them fall to the fourth position. In the last five matches, they have managed to score only two points, while they have lost three matches. Under the guidance of Des Buckingham, the team is currently in fourth place with 17 points from 11 matches. In the first round of the tournament, Kerala Blasters had beaten Mumbai City 3-0 on December 19 at Fatorda.

Mumbai City will be looking to beat their opponents today after the latter won in the first leg with a thumping 3-0 victory.

Kerala Blaster's coach Vukomanovic warned that the recent run of form shouldn't get to one's head and that the team should remained focused. "We know that no team in the tournament will give us anything for free. We have to fight. In professional sports, when you feel that you are the best, you become proud. I can understand the mood and excitement of the fans, but we have to focus and fight till the end," Kerala Blasters coach Vukomanonic said on the eve of the match.

Kerala Blasters' Uruguayan player Adrian Luna is currently in great form. The 29-year-old playmaker has scored two goals in 11 appearances and six assists. In the previous match, Kerala Blasters defeated Odisha FC by two goals, both of which were scored on Luna's assist.
