Skipper Kaushal Hattangadi and Udit Yadav took Goa to 222 for six wickets against Tamil Nadu on the first day of their second match in the Cooch Behar Trophy on Monday, 6 December, at Lalbhai Contractor Stadium in Surat, Gujarat.

Goa had a slow start to their innings as they lost their openers in 11 overs at 30. They lost another wicket as B Aaditya dismissed Izaan Shaikh for eight. For Goa, their batting struggles continued as Sanath Nevagi also got out after scoring one run.

However, Captain Kaushal Hattangadi and Udit Yadav started building a partnership to stabilize the Goa innings. They shared a 97-run stand for the fifth wicket, keeping the Tamil Nadu bowlers at bay.

Kaushal scored 96 off 128 balls with 17 fours and a six as he fell short of his century by four runs.

After Hattangadi's dismissal, Udit continued batting as he was not out for 53 off 225 at the end of the first day. Shivendra Bhujbal (14) and Deep Kasavankar (18 not out) batted with Udit as Goa ended the first day at 226 for six wickets.
