
Veteran Indian footballer Sandesh Jhingan has become the first Indian player who will featurein the Croatian top-tier league Prva HNL after completing a move from ATK Mohun Bagan to HNK Sibenik.
Jhingan, 28, was given the Best Indian Footballer of the Year award for the 2020-21 season by the All India Football Federation last month.
Jingan, who started his youth career with St. Stephen's Football Academy in Chandigarh and made his senior football debut in 2011 for the United Sikkim team. In 2014, at 21, he became the best emerging player in the Indian Super League (ISL) football tournament.
In 2015, he made his international debut against Nepal in the qualifying round of the FIFA World Cup (2018). Jhingan has played for the Kerala Blasters for six years and was runners-up twice. He moved to ATK Mohun Bagan in 2020 but missed the previous season because of injury.
