Veteran batter Snehal Kauthankar has been named the captain of Goa side for the upcoming Ranji Trophy season. The Goa Cricket Association announced their 22-member squad on Wednesday.

Goa is part of Elite D Group matches and will play their matches in the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.

The Goan team, under head coach K. Bhaskar Pillai, will leave for Ahmedabad on February 10, Thursday. They will start their Ranji campaign against Odisha on February 17. They will then face Mumbai on February 24 and Saurashtra on March 3.

India’s premier domestic tournament will be held in two phases this season, split by the Indian Premier League (IPL). While the first phase will take place from February 10 to March 15, the second phase will be played from May 30 to June 26. The IPL is likely to begin in the last week of March.
