The picturesque Madani street in Parra, North Goa, flanked by coconut trees now has another attraction - a sustainable community park.

PALM-FRINGED

The Parra road, made famous by a Bollywood flick Dear Zindagi, has always made news for unruly tourists blocking the narrow street for photos and inconveniencing locals.

MUCH-NEEDED INITIATIVE

The community park, known as Madani, which has created parking space for cars and two-wheelers will streamline the photo-crazy tourists' movements in the area.

A TRIBUTE TO GOA

Displaying their finest skills, Goan artists have added their own touch to the park with some unique sculptures like this rooster head on a coconut by renowned artist Subodh Kerkar.

PARRA'S CHARM

Besides parking space, the park has toilets and changing rooms. Goans can enter this park free, but tourists please pay a fee of Rs 50.
