Dr Satish Kudchadkar from Goa has reached the All India Rankings Masters Badminton tournament final in the men's singles at the age of 75+ on Monday. The competition was held at Manohar Parrikar Indoor Stadium in Naveli.
Dr Satish has now qualified for the BWF World Masters in Spain. In addition, two other Goan players have also secured their place in the Indian team for the World Masters.
In the men's 65+ singles, Goa's Tanaji Sawant advanced to the semifinals.
While Sicletica Ribello also qualified for the World Championships, she lost in the women's singles semifinals at the age of 75+.
Among other Goan players, Kashinath Jalmi and Perpechua Jacques in the mixed doubles age group of 65+ could not make it to the semi-finals. In the men's doubles, Pradip Dhond and Tanaji Sawant did not advance to the finals.

Mixed doubles 65+ age group semifinals: Kashinath Jalmi and Perpechua Jacques lost vs. V. Venkatachalaya and Bhagyalakshmi 10-21, 16-21.
Men's Doubles 65+ age group semifinals: Pradip Dhond and Tanaji Sawant lost vs. M. S. Puttaraj and Jayant Shetty 18-21, 18-21.
