FC Goa has confirmed the signing of winger Nongdomba Naorem from Kerela Blasters. Naorem has been brought in on a free transfer and has signed a one-year deal with the Gaurs. The 21-year-old winger signed the contract on Wednesday after completing the medical and agreeing to personal terms.

“Today is a big day. I am very happy to sign for one of the biggest clubs in India. It’s a club that I feel is the best fit for me and is one that I have admired for a long time. I am now looking forward to understanding what the coach demands from me and script a new chapter in my life.” Naorem said after he signed with FC Goa.

The team is also very pleased with this signing as Ravi Puskur, Director of Football, said, “We’re delighted to secure the services of Nongdamba. He’s a highly technical player and has the directness needed in one on one situations for a player in his position.”

Born in Wabagai, Manipur, Naorem was part of the Minerva Punjab Football academy where he developed into a skilled player. He was also part of the Indian national team in the FIFA U17 World Cup in 2017 and had some great performances.

Naorem was then picked up by the Indian Arrows in the I-league before moving to Kerela Blasters. He was loaned out to Mohan Bagan in his first season with Kerela where won the I-league in 2020 scoring 2 goals and 5 assists in 16 games.
