The newly appointed Executive Director of Sports Authority of Goa Vasant Prabhudesai on Monday said that the process of repayment of the grants has begun and will be completed soon.
"Grants to players and associations will be given soon. The Goa Sports Authority is in the process of doing so. The prize money will be given immediately to the nationally and internationally renowned Goan players, ” said Prabhudesai.
A delegation from the Goa Olympic Association (GOA) congratulated Prabhudesai on his promotion as Director of Sports and Youth Affairs. The delegation included Secretary Gurudatta D. Bhakta, members Mac Vaz, Sunil Morjkar, Rajendra Godinho and Sandeep Heble.
Speaking to the media, Vasant Prabhudesai said he is planning to retire next year after a long stint in the Goan sports administration. He said: “I have a lot on my mind after retirement. Guiding students and young athletes, writing books will be a priority.”
