At Raneache Zuem Chaturthi, locals leave doors and hearts open

Raneachem Zuem is a small island in North Goa is home to around 26 houses, and most of them open their doors to visitors during the festival of Ganesh Chaturthi.

People from Raneachem Zuem put up beautiful tableaux, or chitras, in their homes. These tableaux depict scenes from the Hindu religion or stories associated with Lord Ganesh.

The chitras are made with a variety of materials, including clay, paper, wood, and cloth.
