The historic Silva Heritage Mansion in Benaulim will come alive with the rhythm and grace of Kathak, as Raga–Rasa presents its much-awaited Edition 6, 'Katha Kathak Experience', a presentation of Art Escape Experience and The Live Music Project (TLMP), on February 9.

This immersive event will offer a rare opportunity to experience the artistry and elegance of Kathak, one of India’s oldest classical dance forms, through an interactive performance by renowned artist, Nidhi Sanjeev Prabhu.

The morning event, which will begin at 10 am, promises to be more than just a performance. It will be a celebration of Kathak’s intricate rhythms, evocative storytelling, and the rich cultural heritage of India, all set against the backdrop of the 350-year-old Goan mansion.

Participants will not only witness a stunning Kathak performance, but will also have the chance to engage directly with the art form in a unique interactive session.

The event will kick off at 10 am with a 'Meet & Greet' over tea, coffee, and snacks, accompanied by an exclusive heritage tour of the stunning Silva Heritage Mansion.

THE SPOTLIGHT

At 11 am, the spotlight will shift to Nidhi Prabhu, who will lead the audience through a captivating Kathak performance from 11 am to 12.30 pm.

Nidhi, along with her musical accompanists Rohit Deo (tabla) and Shrirang Tembe (vocals and harmonium), will guide the audience through a rich performance that celebrates the beauty of Kathak’s rhythm (Taalang) and expression (Bhavang).

INTERACTIVE SESSION

The performance will be followed by an interactive session, giving attendees a chance to experience Kathak up close, learn more about its intricacies, and perhaps even try some moves themselves.

This will be a rare opportunity to engage with the art form, making the experience even more memorable.

ABOUT NIDHI PRABHU

Nidhi Sanjeev Prabhu is a name synonymous with Kathak excellence. A dedicated disciple of Dr Manjiri Dev and Pt Mukundraj Dev, Nidhi has spent over two decades mastering the art form, earning recognition and accolades across the globe.

Her impressive credentials include an Alankar degree from Akhil Gandharva Mahavidyalaya, where she graduated with a distinction. She is also a Graded Artist on Doordarshan and a recipient of the Young Artist Scholarship from the Government of India.
