No matter what you're craving, in a tourist paradise like Goa, you will find kitchens serving flavours from across the world. And, if you're in the mood for some Italian fare, we’ve got the perfect spot for you, a place where you can savour delicious pizzas while soaking in the laid-back coastal vibes.

Just a short distance from Patnem beach, along the coast of Goa’s southernmost taluka of Canacona, is La Fetta, a restaurant and bakery offering delicious Italian cuisine.

With its serene ambience and delectable food, this charming eatery is the perfect spot to unwind.

Born of the need for a true Italian eatery in the area, the restaurant opened its doors in the winter of 2021.

“There were places that served pizza and pasta, but there was no specialty Italian restaurant in this area. We wanted to create a space that serves authentic Italian fare made from scratch and has the laidback shack-vibe of Goa,” says Vinnie Singh, wife of Asim, the co-owner of La Fetta.

CRUSTY & YUM: La Fetta is known for serving up delicious pizzas.

Making this his debut venture in the restaurant business, the space is jointly owned by Ganesh Varma (who brings years of experience working in top 5-star hotel kitchens) and Asim Kumar, La Fetta’s lead investor who heads the restaurant’s business development and marketing.

Whether referring to pizza or cake, La Fetta means ‘the slice’, very relevant for the slice of food that’s served out here.

La Fetta’s menu is largely Italian with some fusion dishes. They also have a wide selection of domestic and imported wines, and serve beer and cocktails.

“We take pride in making our bread, pasta and sauces from scratch,” says Vinnie. “Lasagna, pappardelle pasta and fettuccine pasta are some dishes we prepare from the ground up. We use fresh, high quality ingredients and follow traditional recipes to make our dishes.”

She recommends La Fetta’s wood-fired pizzas and handmade pasta. “You must try our tiramisu, cheesecake and ravioli,” she adds. For Rs 1,000, two people can enjoy a hearty meal, complete with a drink each at the restaurant.

SAY CHEERS: Sip on cocktails at the restaurant.

A garden restaurant with outdoor seating, La Fetta’s aesthetics embrace a garden-core vibe. Surrounded by a variety of plants, from common favourites such as areca palm and bougainvillea to rare monstera and philodendrons, its lush, serene quality enhances the dining experience.

“We also grow seasonal herbs like mint and basil, which we use in our food,” Vinnie notes proudly, highlighting that they’ve tried to recreate a soothing green forest-like landscape in the heart of Patnem.

Although La Fetta looks exceptionally beautiful during the monsoons with its lush greenery, the restaurant is open year-round and remains equally special at any time of the year.

So, if you're in the area, make sure to head to La Fetta for a memorable time while vacaying in Goa.
