KTC to rope in 100 electric buses from Olectra Greentech

Kadamba Transport Corporation (KTC) is set to have 100 more electric buses in its fleet soon.

KTCL has placed an order for the supply of 100 electric buses with electric bus manufacturing Olectra Greentech Limited and Evey Trans Private Limited (EVEY). The order has been implemented under the FAME-II (Faster Adoption and Manufacturing of Electric Vehicles) scheme.

Olectra confirmed that it has received a letter of award from KTC for the supply of 100 electric buses. "Olectra is privileged to get the second order from Kadamba Transport Corporation Limited (KTCL), Goa. Our state-of-the-art electric buses have proved their reliability and efficiency. Presently, we are successfully operating 30 eco-friendly electric buses in Goa and delivered another five buses recently. Our buses contribute in preserving the rich ecology of Goa," said K V Pradeep, Chairman and Managing Director, Olectra Greentech Limited.

Evey Trans will procure these electric buses from Olectra Greentech and deliver them over the period of 12 months. The maintenance of these buses will also be undertaken by the company during the contract period.

The 9-Meter Air-Conditioned electric buses will have a seating capacity of 35+Driver. The buses will also be equipped with CCTV cameras to ensure the safety of the commuters, an Emergency button and USB Sockets.

The Centre government had announced a Rs 10,000-crore FAME II scheme. The scheme mainly focuses on supporting the electrification of public and shared transportation.
