Life, however, had different plans for Nixon John D'Souza and his partner, Lenora Anne Macedo, in the midst of the lockdown phase.

Their journey dates back to 2019, when COVID-19 stuck and the world came to a standstill. Nixon and Lenora, originally from Tivim, had been working in Bangalore at the airport at the time.

While Lenora could work from home, Nixon was not given that option. The city’s lockdown environment felt increasingly claustrophobic and stressful. Nixon decided the risk of continuing his job wasn’t worth it, and they both longed to return to their roots in Goa.

That decision to move back home during the pandemic set the stage for Sir Lancelots treats to come to life.

COVID-19 CREATED OPPORTUNITY

The two are parents to a feisty black cat, called Sir Lancelot, who rules them with a furry (iron) paw.

“Back when we lived in Bangalore during the COVID-19 lockdown, getting our hands on quality treats for him was almost impossible. Determined to pamper our baby cat, we started making homemade treats — not just for him, but for our friends’ pets, too,” says Lenora, who loves to cuddle with Sir Lancelot.

“It was difficult to find high-quality, preservative-free options. This gap, along with Sir Lancelot’s inspiring presence, motivated us to create treats that are as healthy and wholesome as they are delicious,” she adds.

He adds that the ingredients are obtained from trusted vendors with FSSAI licenses and ISO certifications.

Every batch of pet food is made using separate, dedicated utensils for each type of meat, eliminating cross-contamination. This helps, especially with pets that have allergies.
