A two-digit rise in Covid-19 cases has been seen in Goa over the last few days. On Sunday, June 12, 2022, the coastal state recorded 57 new cases, while 36 recovered. As per the data released by the state health department, the state now has 473 active Covid-19 cases.

The Covid tally in the state has reached 2,26,464, of which 2,42,159 have fully recovered, while 3,832 succumbed to the virus. In the last 24 hours, no deaths have been recorded. The state recovery rate stood at 98.25%.

In the wake of rising cases in the state, the Health Department has strongly suggested observing Covid-appropriate behavior and taking a booster jab.

Meanwhile, the monsoon has officially arrived in Goa. Since last week, Goa has been witnessing more fresh infections, and active cases are on the rise. In the past week, there were only 12 active cases in the state, while today that number has climbed to 473. Also, the positivity rate rose to 10.65 percent, which is quite worrisome for Goans. Hence, the state Health Department has directed citizens to get a booster as early as possible.
