Four people who flew into Goa from the UK tested positive for COVID-19

Four people who flew into Goa from the UK in the early hours of Tuesday have tested positive for COVID-19 and their samples have been sent for genome sequencing to ascertain if they have the new variant, Omicron, informed Health Minister Vishwajith Rane.
All four have been admitted to the PHC Cansaulim, where a dedicated ward has been set up for isolating and treating such patients.
"All passengers who arrived from the UK today morning were tested on arrival. Four travellers have been tested positive. They have been isolated at PHC Cansaulim," Rane tweeted on Tuesday.
Earlier, on Friday, Four persons who travelled to Goa from the UK including one via Bengaluru tested positive for Covid-19.
The COVID-19 tally in Goa reached 1,79,769 after 27 cases were detected on Monday, while the death toll remained unchanged at 3,485.
So far, 1,75,888 people have recovered from the infection, including 37 during the day, leaving the state with an active tally of 396.
