Seminar on reservation in recruitment for SC and ST employees
PANAJI: The Goa Commission for Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes will organise a day-long seminar on ‘Reservation in Recruitment and Promotion for SC and ST Employees of Government Departments/ Corporations/Autonomous Bodies/Aided Institutions' at Ravindra Bhavan, Margao on Sunday, February 2. The seminar is expected to be attended by around 1500 staff, right from LDCs to Grade I officers of SC and ST community and also nodal officers dealing with post-based roster. During the day-long seminar, Deputy Secretary to Government of India, Ministry of New and Renewable Energy Sandip Mukherjee and Government of India retired senior officer R C Verma will address the participants on various issues pertaining to reservation in recruitment and promotions for SC and ST and Constitutional provisions safeguarding the interest of the SC and ST. The seminar will also attended by Deputy Chief Minister Manohar ‘Babu’ Ajgaonkar and Art and Culture Minister Govind Gaude, among others.
