Vijai used to blackmail late Parrikar CM Sawant says Phaldesai
MARGAO: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) spokesperson and former MLA Subhash Phaldesai on Wednesday alleged that MLA Vijai Sardesai used to blackmail former Chief Minister late Manohar Parrikar and also present CM Dr Pramod Sawant. He also said that if Vijai had good relations with Central BJP leaders then he could have not been thrown out from the government. Speaking to reporters at Margao, Phaldesai further said that Vijai has no right to criticise the BJP government. "At the time Vijai was part of the BJP government he always supported the decisions taken by the government. And it was he who had come to BJP to form the government," he added. Phaldesai also said that at the time 10 Congress MLAs joined the BJP government Vijai was trying to compromise with the BJP leadership. "He had even compromised to drop his two MLAs from the government and retain his own ministership. He had blackmailed the late Parrikar and got ministerial portfolios to all three MLAs of Goa Forward Party. He changes his stand for selfish motives," he alleged. According to Phaldesai, the next Assembly election will tell Vijai where he stands. "Vijai has cheated his own voters and especially minority community," he further alleged. He also questioned why the Goa Forward Party is still part of NDA. BJP's South Goas District President Tulshidas Naik alleged that Vijai had a plan to finish all forests of Goa. "The 10 Congress MLAs who had joined the BJP government were because of his plan so that Goa can be saved from him," he stated.
