Long live cinema! Yesterday the filmy world witnessed a celebration of the cinematic arts. Distinctive film industries from the world over joined hands to appreciate and honour all the artists who created and shared their masterpieces with Goa.

Celebrities from India and around the world arrived in Goa to witness and partake in this prestigious event. The rolled out red carpet was graced by big names from the film fraternity, who stunned fans with outfits highlighting their unique styles.

The 55th edition of the International Film Festival of India (IFFI)—a nine-day celebration of art, films and their creators—came to an end with its grand finale, the closing ceremony at Dr Shyama Prasad Mukherjee Stadium in Goa on November 28, 2024.

Awards and accolades were showered on those who delivered outstanding performances, created innovative projects and contributed to the art of filmmaking.

The Indian Personality of the Year awardee Vikrant Massey walked the red carpet in a charismatic look, while the famous Australian film director Phillip Noyce came down to Goa with his daughter to accept the Satyajit Ray Excellence in Cinema Award.

Both have had commendable careers and have time and again proven their love of cinema and the process of its creation.

The show stealer at the event proved to be South superstar Rashmika Mandanna who mesmerised the audiences with her moves to her hit song "Saami Saami" from the film Pushpa.

Similarly, Shreya Saran not only rocked the red carpet with her traditional saree look but also the main stage with her dance performance that conveyed the essence of India's diversity.

No celebration is complete without soulful music. The IFFI closing was a musical night with renowned singers Amaal Mallik and Mame Khan soothing the ears of all the spectators.

Industry veterans Manoj Joshi, Ramesh Sippy, Jaya Pradha and others blessed the event with their presence. Hindi film director Ashutosh Gowariker joined the closing ceremony with entire IFFI jury to celebrate the awardees and the art of cinema.

No celebration is complete without soulful music. IFFI closing was a musical night with renowned singers Amaal Mallik and Mame Khan soothing the ears of all the spectators.

Director Anand Tiwari, accompanied by lead actors Shreya Choudhary and Ritwik Bhowmik, appeared for the promotion of the upcoming season 2 of their web series Bandish Bandits.

Famous actors like Madgaon Express fame Pratik Gandhi and Anupama actor Rupali Ganguly also added to the glamour of the closing ceremony.

The evening celebrated and felicitated the award-winning films, filmmakers and everyone involved in these projects. The winners who couldn't make it to the event sent video messages to thank the jury and festival organisers for the global platform to showcase their art worldwide.

The enthusiasm of the cinephiles present in the audience only added to the grandeur of the event.
