Chief Minister Pramod Sawant said that the Goa Government will issue Standard Operating Procedure (SOPs) for Ganesh Chaturthi festival celebrations next month in view of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Speaking to the media, Chief Minister Sawant said, “the second wave of COVID-19 is still there. The positivity rate is around 1.9 to 2 per cent. There are daily deaths too. Under such a situation, we must continue to take precautions.”
He also stated that Saravjanik Ganesh Mandals will be taken into confidence to ensure that the celebration is a low-key affair. “I appeal people to see that festival is celebrated taking all the necessary precautions,” Sawant said.
The Ganesh Chaturthi festival will be celebrated on September 10.
