PANAJI: Musicurry will host the one of a kind Nivaan Handpan and World Music Festival in Goa from February 7 to 9 at the Montego Bay Beach Village in Goa from from 10 am to 10:30 pm. Nivaan, which means ‘holy’, is a festival that is held to experience the purity of the belief in music. It is cited to be an unprecedented experience which would include performances by globally renowned Handpan and Indian classical artists, numerous workshops and wellness sessions, spanning over a period of three holistic days. This eclectic festival will begin with the inauguration by the guest of honour, world-renowned Indian drummer and percussionist Sivamani. This will be followed by performances by an amazing line-up of world-renowned International artists such as Kabecao, Martin Dubois, Greg Ellis, Archer and Tripp, Andrey Tanzu, Mandakini, Vitalli Ivanov, Jeremy Nattagh, Nadishana, Indian Maestros such as Nathulal Solanki, Ragini Shankar, Naveen Kumar, Tritha Sinha and Indian Handpan players such as Jai Gosar, Samuel Murthy and Martin Marty to name a few. Dipak Thakkar, organiser of Nivaan Handpan and World Music Festival said, “Nivaan is multi-genre festival of Handpan music blended with Indian music, spirituality and culture. This non-profit event for all music enthusiasts is crafted with the generous support of the Handpan India community. This event is dedicated to all the Handpan players and its objective is to highlight this rare instrument that heals the inner core with its peaceful sound. Our aim is to position handpan in the Indian music scene and to bring the handpan players and music lovers under one roof. Apart from the performances, we also have workshops for those seeking to learn handpan techniques and explore the stirring aura of music.

Exclusive workshops would be conducted by the artists themselves such as ‘learning basic handpan techniques’ by master Kabecao, Indian voice & music meditation by Tritha Sinha, Rythm-Breath-Harmony by Martin Dubois, the untold secrets by for mental healing by Srajan Srivastava, Secrets of the Handpan by Tommaso Varriale and the Handpan Workshop with Archer and Tripp. The three day event will have multiple other workshops on Yoga meditation, Sound healing and music and rhythm. This music festival comes during the best season and provides an idyllic platform for all Handpan enthusiasts as well as connoisseurs of music from across the globe to connect and experience the rich Indian culture as well as a unique blend of Handpan, Indian classical music and folk tunes.
