PANAJI: A 23-year-old Afghani student studying at Goa University was stabbed by a group of four persons at Dona Paula on Monday.
The Panaji police have arrested one assailant and are on the look out for three other accused, who have been reported to be absconding.
According to the police, the accused chased the student on their two-wheelers, stopped him while he was also proceeding towards University on his two-wheeler and then allegedly stabbed him.
The incident occurred following verbal clashes between the victim and the accused at Dona Paula.
The victim identified as Matihulla Aria has been admitted in the intensive care unit (ICU) of Goa Medical College and Hospital, Bambolim and was reported to be out of danger.
Following a complaint, the police immediately arrested one Satish Nilkante, a native of Maharashtra and currently residing at Caranzalem and are on the look out for other three accused.
