After class X, Class XI students set a new record, 99.40% clear HSSC exam

After the Class X students record pass percentage, the Goa Board on Monday announced the results for Higher Secondary School Certificate (HSSC) with record students clearing the Class XII exams. 18,085 students have cleared HSSC with a pass percentage of 99.4 for 2021. While only 75 students have flunked this year’s class XII exam, the pass percentage in 2021 is 10 per cent more than last year’s result. In 2020, the passing percentage for Class XII was 89.27 per cent.

Out of 18,085 students that have cleared the exam, girls students have again outshined the boys with 9,163 girls clearing the exams with 99.74 while 8,922 boys cleared the exam with the pass percentage of 99.05.

According to the stream-wise results, 4,683 students cleared the science stream with a passing percentage of 99.68 while 5,574 students cleared the commerce stream with a 99.66 passing percentage. In the Arts stream, 4,716 students passed the exams with a 99.39 passing percentage while in the Vocational stream, 3,112 students cleared the exams with a passing percentage of 98.51.

Class XI public exams were cancelled for 2021 due to the COVID-19 pandemic and the board had adopted the CBSE like formula (30:30:40) to evaluate the students. According to this formula, marks were evaluated after giving weightage to Class X, XI and internal assessments carried out by schools in Class XII.
