South Goa MP Francisco Sardinha hit out at the BJP government on Wednesday, saying that the BJP government in the state has given nothing but 'false promises' to the people.
“In the last four and a half years, the BJP government in Goa has done nothing but give false promises to the people,” Sardinha said at a press conference held at the party’s South Goa district office in Margao.
He further said that Congress was the only option for the people of Goa. "Congress and BJP are the two main parties in Goa. The rest of the parties will get your vote. Voters need to keep in mind that if one or two MLAs from any party are elected, they will not be able to form a government on their own. We have asked the party to field good candidates so that the Congress MLAs do not split like before," he said.
He also said that he was of the view that the Congress party should contest the elections on its own without allying with anyone.
'Get global recognition for Indian vaccines'
Indian scientists have developed Covidshield and Covaxin, but they have not yet been approved by the World Health Organization. He demanded that the Prime Minister of India and the Minister of External Affairs work for global recognition of the vaccine.
