BICHOLIM: Chief Minister Dr. Pramod Sawant assured to create 8000 jobs in the next two years in the private sector and also after Mopa airport is commissioned.
He was addressing villagers after visiting Mayem and Kunde constituencies in Bicholim taluka in the wake of forthcoming Zilla Panchayat elections on Wednesday. Speaking on the occasion, Sawant informed that the government is planning to create around 8000 jobs in the private sector to solve the employment problem. “Besides this there will be many more jobs likely to be created after commissioning of Mopa airport which will help to solve employment problems in the State".
He also said that in future, elected ZP members will be given additional powers to undertake development works and mentioned that the Central and State government has come out with different schemes for the welfare of people.
Later chief minister toured Chodan, Kudchirem, Mayem, Narvem, Karapur, Piligao, Shirgao and Kunde constituencies.
He was accompanied by Mayem MLA Pravin Zantye, Mayem candidate Shankar Chodankar, Premanand Mhambrey, Dayanand Karbotkar, Krishna Parab, Vishwas Chodankar and Urvi Masurkar.
