Goa extends COVID 19 curfew till July 26

The Goa government on Sunday has extended statewide curfew by a week till Monday, July 26, without any further relaxations.

Announcing the extension of the curfew, the Chief Minister tweeted, “The State Level Curfew Order will be extended up to 7 am, 26 July 2021, with the same restrictions and relaxations.”

In its previous order on July 11, the state government had extended the curfew till July 19. The government had also allowed gyms to open with 50 per cent capacity, religious places with up to 15 people and sports complexes without spectators. Shops were allowed to open between 7 AM to 7 PM while restaurants and bars were allowed to operate with 50 per cent capacity.

On Sunday, Goa reported 120 new COVID-19 infections and two deaths. The positivity rate stood at 2.6 per cent and the recovery rate is at 97.25 per cent.
