Goa University cancels exams for first and second year students of UG programmes

GU said that all these students shall be graded based on the marks scored by them in the intra semesterassessment (ISA) and practical examination during the current semester.

PANAJI: Goa University (GU) has decided not to hold Semester End Examinations (SEE) for the first and second year regular students of UG programmes of B.A.,B.Sc.(including Home Sc.), B.Com., B.B.A., B.C.A., B.S.W. for the current academic year 2019-20.

In a circular issued, GU has stated: "The University has decided not to hold Semester End Examinations (SEE) for the first and second year regular students of UG programmes of B.A./B.Sc.(including Home Sc.)/  B.Com./B.B.A./ B.C.A /B.S.W. offered at the University and its affiliated colleges for the current academic year 2019-20. Similarly, no SEE will be conducted for the first, second and third year regular students of  B.Sc.B.Ed./B.A.B.Ed. programmes."

GU said that all these students shall be graded based on the marks scored by them in the intra semester assessment (ISA) and practical examination during the current semester.

"In those cases where practical Examination of the course could not be conducted, the same will be held whenever the circumstances permit," said the GU circular adding, "The results of such students will be declared on completion of the practical examination."

GU said that no student shall be detained from moving to the next semester. 

However, students who fail after applying the grading scheme shall have to pass the examination for the course in which the student has failed, whenever the Examination is held next.

"Final year examinations of all the above programmes and supplementary/repeat examinations of lower semesters shall be conducted from July 1 onwards," stated the circular.
