Indian navy float and display at Vasco Carnival
The float depicted a Seeking aircraft operating from the deck of INS Kolkata. The float displayed the might of the Indian Navy and also the multiple roles undertaken by it during the armed conflicts as well as the peacetime operations.
PANAJI: Afloat and a short play by Goa Naval area were at display during the Carnival parade at Vasco-da-Gama on Monday.
The float was made to reflect the theme of Navy Week 2019 - ‘Silent, Strong and Swift'.
The float was preceded by a marching contingent of naval personnel including the elite Marine Commandos and Divers. A short play was also enacted in front of the podium, depicting activities undertaken by the Navy during flood relief. It emphasized the assistance provided by naval rescue teams in saving numerous lives during recent floods in Kerala, Maharashtra, and Goa.
The play also showcased the role of naval air arm in undertaking Search And Rescue (SAR) and providing relief material during such exigencies. The aircraft was depicted in the play by means of a drone symbolizing the Aerial Reconnaissance and SAR
