There will be a competition for women on a topic called creative women entrepreneurs. In the evening, a formal inaugural ceremony will be held and the chief executive officer of Chowgule Industries Pvt Ltd, Panaji, Tejashri Pai will remain present as a chief guest.

MARGAO: Oorja Wellness Centre in association with Silverline will be celebrating the International Women's Day on March 7 at conference hall, Ravindra Bhavan, Margao. 

Addressing a press conference at Margao, director of Oorja Wellness Centre, Sneha Bhagwat said that the programme will start at 9.15 am and end at 6.30 pm.  As informed by her after the opening ceremony, renowned social worker Adv Auda Viegas will deliver a talk on 'Rights and Privileges of Women'.

Thereafter, a workshop will be conducted and PSI of Crime Branch(Women's Wing) Sandhya Gupta will guide the participants. At 11.15 am consultant engineer and automation, Saijee Engineering Services Yeshwant Gawas will talk on 'Home Safety on Electrical Equipments'.

Thereafter, a panel discussion will be held on 'Woman and Womanhood' and well known reputed women from various spheres will have an interaction with the audience on the topic. The panellist includes Sulakshana Sawant (Professor and president of BJP Mahila Morcha), Tejashri Pai (CEO, Chowgule Industries), Deepali Naik (Director, Women and Child Development), Adv Auda Viegas(Lawyer and social worker), Deepa Miringkar(Assistant engineer, electricity department), Anagha Deshpande Arlekar (Principal, Vadem Nagar High School), Kavita Amonkar (Senior journalist) and Vinaya Shinkre will moderate the discussion. There will be an award ceremony at 5.30 pm. 

Celebrating Women's A day with saree walk/run

YWCA Goa and Hospicio Hospital, Margao will be celebrating Women's Day 2020 with a saree walk/run for mental health and fitness on March 8 at 7 am at Jogging track, Fatorda handball court (opposite stadium gate B).

The saree walk symbolises the fitness of body and mind as exercise improves mental health by reducing anxiety, depression, negative mood and by improving self-esteem and cognitive function. Exercise has been found to alleviate symptoms such as low self-esteem and social withdrawal.
