PANAJI: The Porvorim police on Thursday cracked the rape and murder of a 28-year-old woman at Porvorim with the arrest of a minor boy.
The police are on lookout for the main accused who is reported to be absconding.
The Porvorim police on Tuesday recovered a body of an unidentified woman found dumped in the bushes near the KTC depot at Porvorim.
After post-mortem examination at the Goa Medical College and Hospital (GMC), Bambolim it was confirmed that the woman was raped and murdered by strangulation. Later the police identified the body and started investigations.
The police immediately detained two suspects including a minor boy and the latter confessed about his involvement in the crime.
The Porvorim police are now on the look out for the main accused and a police team has been sent to Odisha to arrest the accused.
