Nigerian held for possessing drugs

Anjuna police arrested a Nigerian national Charles Chukwuma Oguejio for possessing 62.9 grams of narcotic drugs suspected to be cocaine worth Rs 6,30,000 approximately and cash of Rs 17,510.

MAPUSA: Anjuna police arrested a Nigerian national Charles Chukwuma Oguejio for possessing 62.9 grams of narcotic drugs suspected to be cocaine worth Rs 6,30,000 approximately and cash of Rs 17,510. The drugs and cash, all worth Rs 6,50,000, was illegally concealed in a blue and black colour Fascino scooter on Friday early morning.

According to Anjuna police, the raid was conducted between 11.25 pm to 2.10 am at four road junction near Happy Bar and Restaurant at Assagao during which the 37-year-old accused Nigerian national was found in possession of cocaine.

The said illegal suspected narcotic drugs along with other exhibits has been seized and taken for panchanama after following all the mandatory provisions of the NDPS Act.

An offence under section 21(B) of the NDPS Act has been registered and the accused person is placed arrest in the said crime.

Further investigation of the case is in progress with PSI Vilesh Durbhatkar under the supervision of SP (North) Porvorim, Utkrisht Prasoon; SDPO Mapusa, Gajanan Prabhudessai and Anjuna PI Suraj Gawas.
