PANAJI: Panchayats Minister Mauvin Godinho on Sunday claimed that no religious head had got the right to interfere in the governance of any any country.
Mauvin stated this when asked for his reaction to the appeal made by the Goa Archbishop to the government to revoke the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA), on the sidelines of a lecture by RSS general secretary Suresh 'Bhaiyyaji' Joshi at Dona Paula.
Mauvin said, "No religious head has got the right to interfere in the governance of any any country or comment somethting which will bring about an opposition on a communal basis. They (religious heads) should not be seen indirectly inciting anti-communal. The intention behind it may be good but one should be careful.
