Panaji: One person tested positive for coronavirus in Goa on Wednesday, while nine others admitted to the designated Covid-19 hospitals were cured, Goa Health Secretary Nila Mohanan said on Wednesday.

"We have recorded one positive case today. The person had travelled to Mumbai from Goa to bring back his stranded family. The family have tested negative," Mohanan told reporters at a press conference in Panaji.

Mohanan said that the state's tally of active cases as of Wednesday stood at 31.

Earlier on Wednesday, Chief Minister Pramod Sawant told reporters that no bars and restaurants would be allowed to open in Goa, until Lockdown 4.0 ends later this month.

"We will decide on this issue only after the lockdown period ends. No decision has been made yet," Sawant said.
