BICHOLIM: The workers of (Chowgule) mining company on Tuesday stopped the ore transportation in protest against the attitude of company to employ (Vedanta) company workers at the weighing scale of the company at Shirgao. The workers demanded that since the ore being transported is royalty paid the company should engage the workers of same company and not any other company.

It may be recalled that Vedanta company has started transportation of e-auctioned ore from Chowgule mining company plot at Shirgao from last few days. However, the said ore transportation was stopped by over different issues. But the same was started since Monday after the Supreme Court gives green signal to transport ore on which royalty is paid. But when workers of the Chowgule company came to know that ore being transported is royalty paid and the workers of Vedanta Company have been engaged at the weighting scale for supervision, they raised objection and stopped the transportation demanding that Chowgule company workers should be engaged on weighing scale. “Since the ore transported by the company is now legal then company should engage the workers of Chowgule mining company for supervision and not any other company,” said Sainath Amonkar a worker.
