VASCO: With the Government of India's directive to screen every incoming foreign traveler due to a recent rise in the detection of suspected coronavirus cases in the country, the screening of passengers was intensified at the Dabolim international airport from Thursday.
"To ensure smooth and comfortable universal screening of all international passengers, sufficient seating arrangements and writing tables are reorganized at Goa international airport", another tweet said.
"To avoid queues and delays, two counters have been made at Goa airport. Passenger is requested to mandatorily fill-up the self-declaration form in duplicate in the flight before disembarking", the tweet said
According to sources at the Dabolim airport, two international passengers from the UK and Nepal were shifted to the Goa Medical College and Hospital, Bambolim for suspected coronavirus symptoms.
The sources further said that earlier only foreign passengers from certain countries were screened but from Thursday, all incoming foreign passengers will be screened and the suspected passengers will be shifted to the nearest sub-district hospital, Chicalim or to the GMC, Bambolim
