PANAJI: Corporation of the City of Panaji (CCP) has decided to implement pay parking at nine other stretches of roads across the city.
The decision was taken at the ordinary meeting of the Corporation held on Monday. In the first phase, CCP had already implemented pay parking at nine stretches of roads across the city from February 15 onwards.
Of the nine stretches of roads to be taken up under pay parking, six have already been notified as pay parking areas while three areas are yet to be notified which include M G Road, Dr Jack Sequeira Road from Gaspar Dias to Goa Science Centre, Miramar and EDC Patto Plaza. "We have to follow due process which would take at least two months only after which the tender for pay parking would be floated," CCP Mayor Uday Madkaikar told reporters after the meeting.
Meanwhile, Madkaikar also informed that the lease agreements of the shops in the new municipal market is ready. "The draft lease agreement would be put up before the CCP meeting for final approval on Friday after which we will go ahead and get them signed," he said.
