The main road from Patradevi to Dhargal in Pernem Taluka, which connects the National Highway has turned out to be a nightmare for motorists, be it day or night, or rain. Vehicles are getting stuck in innumerable potholes and trenches and have become a death trap for the public.

People are facing difficulties in crossing the national highway due to the lack of service roads in many places. The work of the flyovers is in doubt and it seems as if the flyovers have been pulled to one side. Citizens say that the concrete road of this national highway is dilapidated and doubts about the contractor's work are now growing.

“The work is going on a very slow place. no officer is supervising the work. So the contractor is indulging arbitrary work. I don’t think the Public road department is aware of the misery we are facing due to the potholes on this road” says Suryakant Chodankar, a resident of Pernem Taluka.

The service roads connecting the village on the side of the road have also become like death traps. Last year, Public Works Minister Deepak Pauskar had ordered to construct a service road along with the height of the national highway after listening to the problems of the local people. However, it has not been executed till today. In many places, a protective walls have also collapsed

Due to the lack of sewerage system on the side of the road to date, many houses were flooded during the rainy season. Two months ago, Public Works Minister Deepak Pauskar and Deputy Chief Minister Babu Ajgaonkar inspected the road with officials and listened to the problems of the citizens. At that time, the minister had also given an order to the officer to fix the sewerage system. However, it has not been implemented till today.
