Panaji: Governor Satya Pal Malik will unfurl the tricolor at Parade Ground, opposite Bal Bhavan, Campal Panaji at 8.45 am to mark the 70th Republic Day.Chief Minister Dr Pramod Sawant and others will be present on the occasion. Various programmes have also been planned to celebrate the event at the taluka places by unfurling the national flag. Deputy Chief Minister Chandrakant (Babu) Kavlekar will attend Republic day function at Lohia Maidan, Margao. Minister for Art and Culture Govind Gaude will be the chief guest at Kranti Maidan, Ponda. Minister for Science and Technology Michael Lobo will unfurl the tricolor at Mapusa. Minister for Urban Development Milind Naik at Vasco. Minister for Panchayati Raj Mauvin Godinho will graced the function at Sanguem. Deputy Speaker Isidore Fernandes at Canacona, Deputy Chief Minsiter Manohar Azgaonkar will unfurl the tricolor at Pernem. Minister for Power Nilesh Cabral will be the chief guest at Quepem. Speaker of Goa Legislative Assembly Rajesh Patnekar at Bicholim and Minister for Public Works Deepak C Prabhu Pauskar will graced the function at Dharbandora. Later in the evening, the Governor, Satya Pal Malik will host a reception at Raj Bhavan, Donapaula at 5.15 pm.
