VASCO: The Verna police on Sunday foiled bull fights with the arrest of three persons. The police also attached bulls brought by them for dhirio even as spectators fled. Acting upon reliable information, the Verna police team rushed to Sonarwado-Pirni where crowd had assembled to watch bull fights. On seeing the police, the crowd and also the owners of the bulls fled leaving their animals at the site. The police attached the bulls and following inquiry, arrested three persons identified as Sydney D'Costa of Verna, Caitano Braganza of Cansaulim and Roquezinho D'Silva of Nagoa-Verna. The police registered a case against the three accused under the prevention of cruelty to animals act, 1960. They were later released on bail, police said adding that further investigations were on under the guidance of Verna PI Harish Madkaikar.
