Celebration or not, Goa's food is always delightful. While Xacuti is one of those dishes which is bursting with flavour, what's even more interesting is that there are slight variations in its flavour depending on which part of Goa it originates.

In celebration of culture, community and culinary delights, The Xacuti Co. recently hosted an intimate gathering that transcended the boundaries of a Goan experience.

The event was held at the vibrant For The Record-Vinyl Bar, in Panjim, on February 4, 2024, for which The Xacuti Co. set up a Community Table, seating 12 guests. Invited participants had an immersive and exquisite Goan experience.

The table was graced by the presence of Goan heritage enthusiast, Alinto Coelho, who shared captivating tales that wove a rich tapestry of Goa's history.

Rony Martins and Suzette Martins (Mum's Kitchen, Miramar, Panjim), shared valuable insights into Goan culinary heritage at the session.

The event featured a delightful assortment of Xacuti, a Goan speciality, crafted by The Xacuti Co, which spared no effort in curating a Xacuti culinary experience that tantalised taste buds.

An à la carte menu, featuring the expertise of mixologist, Buland Shukla, showcased the fine feni cocktails, complementing the delicious Xacuti meal.

The melding of traditional flavours and innovative mixology was nothing short of brilliant.

Attendees had the opportunity to savour three distinct variations of Xacuti -- from Morjim, Pilgao and Pernem -- each infused with unique chillies native to its specific region in Goa and served with hot local breads (katre, poie, undo and lambe pao).

The Community Table delivered more than just a meal; it provided a gateway to the soul of Goa.

While the echoes of laughter and the clinking of glasses faded, the memories forged during this unique event linger on, proving once again that dining is more than just a culinary experience; it's an opportunity to create lasting memories and connections.
