Founded in 2019 by Srila Chatterjee, Baro Market is a platform that brings together home-grown brands and artists from across the country. The three-day pop-up market in Goa will take place from November 28 to 30, 2024, at Marāi Restaurant at Aldona.
Featuring a diverse line-up of conscious brands, one will find an array of offerings.
Right from Jamdani dresses and womenswear by Bhomra, to stunning accessories from Earthaments. There will also be exquisite handloom sarees from Nomi and captivating resin art and jewellery from Red Bus Designs Co.
This curated marketplace will also let one explore shadow boxes by AIRdrome, and pick up affordable pieces by cinema and art enthusiasts. Artists, including Zainab Tambawalla and Pattachitra artists Laltu and Tagar Chitrakar, will showcase their work.
“I really believe that there’s a time and a place for everything, and the holiday season that really starts right now seems like the perfect time to have Baro Market come and just make most of the season,” says Srila Chatterjee, the founder and owner of Baro Market.
Speaking about organising the event at the quaint restaurant Marāi, Chatterjee expressed how she is really looking forward to this event.
“Marāi is absolutely beautiful, it has such a great atmosphere. I love the cocktails and the food is straight up excellent. I’ve known Malini for a long time, and I love her style and the way she does things. So, it seemed like the perfect backdrop to bring our market to.”
In the midst of the creativity and exquisite craftsmanship, there will be also be food and music at Rahul and Malini Arkekar's restaurant, Marāi.
“This year’s Baro Market at Marāi will have a vibrant, festival atmosphere—complete with great food, lively music and plenty of Christmas goodies. It’s the perfect way to kick off the holiday season and celebrate with family, friends and our community,” says Malini, adding that she has always admired Srila’s remarkable talent for discovering amazing artisans.
