Adventure enthusiasts mark your calendars! On June 29, 2025, MotoTrip will be back with its flagship event, 'Time Trial: The Game of Survival' happening at Shirwal Dam, Maharashtra, just 15 km from Mopa Airport.
With a prize pool of Rs 83,000, plus trophies and adrenaline-pumping trails, this is not just a race, it’s a celebration of grit, speed and the spirit of off-road motorcycling.
BEHIND THE TRAILS
The passion behind MotoTrip is deeply rooted in founder, Altaf Khalifa’s, childhood.
“My father has always been into motorcycles and owns a garage that restores antique and Royal Enfield bikes. I grew up around that,” Altaf recalls. “As a kid, I’d ride my cycle through the mud, slide around for fun. Eventually, I took my dad’s Enfield Bullet (motorcycle) out to practice in the dry fields nearby — and that’s when the real love for off-roading began.”

From solo rides to forming a close-knit community, Altaf’s journey evolved naturally. What started as rides with cousins turned into impromptu trail expeditions with new biker friends.
“I created a WhatsApp group called 'Goa Trail Riders'. We were a small crew who loved exploring offbeat mud roads,” he shares.
The game-changer came when Altaf met Carolyn, an avid biker from Benaulim, with a tourism background. She urged him to turn his passion into a profession. And so, MotoTrip was born in 2020, specialising in heritage and trail rides across Goa.
GROWING MOVEMENT
MotoTrip’s first event, the Rubber Creek Trail Head, in November 2021, saw 40 riders and over 400 spectators. Safety was the key and fun was the goal. “We wanted everyone to enjoy without injuries,” shares Altaf.
The upcoming Time Trial 2025 revolves around the same spirit, but on a grander scale. This high-octane event features categories like Boys Class, Girls Class, ADV Class and a Foreign Bikes Category.
Riders are released one by one on a marked track in a race against time. Winners from each class will go head-to-head in a final showdown to compete for the coveted Champion’s Trophy and cash prize.
MORE THAN A RACE
Time Trial isn’t just about competition — it’s about community. “Off-roading is still a niche in the Goan tourism sector,” explains Altaf. “But it’s growing. We now host multi-day trail rides and invite riders from across India.”
MotoTrip also ensures participant safety, and features trained guides, full riding gear requirements, first-aid knowledge and accessible hospitals nearby. The aim? Adventure without compromise.

With more dedicated adventure bikes entering the Indian market, MotoTrip plans to expand into guided tours, customised rides and community events across Goa and beyond.
“With support from local government, Goa can truly become an adventure hub,” Altaf believes.
