The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Tuesday released its manifesto or ‘Sankalp Patra’ for the upcoming Goa Assembly elections.

The manifesto, released by Union minister Nitin Gadkari, chief minister Pramod Sawant and state unit chief Sadanand Tanavade, was initially scheduled to be launched on February 6; however, the programme was postponed after the demise of legendary singer Lata Mangeshkar earlier that day.

Here are some key announcements made by the BJP in its manifesto:

1. Three LGP cylinders for free per year for every household.

2. No increase in states duties on diesel and petrol for the next three years.

3. Make Goa a hub for meetings, conventions and exhibitions in Asia to boost the tourism sector.

4. Revive the mining through Goa Mineral Development Corporation and undertake auctioning of iron ore blocks within six months of forming the government

5. Enhance old-age pension under DSSY from the existing Rs 2000 to Rs 3000 per month.

6. Propel Goa to a growth trajectory that will enable it to take it a $ 50 billion economy in the next ten years.

7. A brand new international football stadium and football academy in Goa will be established in Goa and host the FIFA under-20 world cup in the coming years.

8. Goa to be transformed into health and wellness hub of the Country and make it a premier destination for the co-working spaces and remote working in the post-pandemic world.

9. Promote Goa as a destination for high-end technological research and also revamp the chief minister's apprenticeship programme.

10. Build a world-class eco-friendly transportation infrastructure for Goa.

11. Reduce end-to-end interstate bus travel time by harnessing inland waterways for the passenger as well as cargo transportation.

12. Formulate and implement a comprehensive action plan amid at increasing female workforce participation drastically in the 10 years through a package of incentives for female entrepreneurs, especially tourism sector.

13. Make Goa the leading exporter of seafood in the country by supporting fishing activity in the state.

14. Double the income of horticulturists by providing incentives up to Rs 10 lakh to new export-oriented FPOs.

15. Build 20 cold storage facilities across the state.

16. Provide good quality housing for all in the next five years by providing home load for deserving families at an interest rate of 2 per cent for women and 4 per cent for men and develop residential plots.
