Former Minister and Siolim MLA Vinod Paliencar on Monday, January 17, said he will announce his decision on contesting the polls from which party in the next two days as Goa Forward Party has given the Siolim seat to Congress.
Paliencar, who was closeted with his supporters at his residence, said “No matter how many candidates are in the fray, I will emerge as the winner. I was elected based on my development work. We will have to think differently for the Siolim seat. Let anyone contest, we wish good luck."
He further said he would wait for two days to decide on which party's ticket he would contest or run as an independent.
In the 2017 state assembly election, he had defeated former WRD Minister Dayanand Mandrekar on the GFP ticket. Paliencar was given a ministerial post in the BJP-Goa Forward Party coalition government which came to power in the state in 2017.
