13 people rescued over the last weekend in Goa

Among these tourists, 9 were rescued on Saturday and 4 were rescued on Sunday.

Lifeguard of Drishti Marine, the state-appointed professional lifeguard agency, have rescued 13 people over the last weekend.

Among these tourists, 9 were rescued on Saturday and 4 were rescued on Sunday.

All 13 rescued people were male tourists saved from rough currents.

In just last 15 days, Drishti Lifeguard have rescued total of 68 tourists. Calangute and Baga in North Goa had seen the most number of rescues.

In Calangute, eight males aged 29 to 41 years old rom Karnataka, were caught in rough tides. Seven lifesavers rushed to rescue the victims along with surfboards and rescue tubes.

Following that, two more males from Hyderabad, aged 33 and 34, were caught in a rip currets while swimming and were rescued at Baga.

In South Goa, a lifesaver saved a 20-year-old male.

Drishti Lifeguards have been on their toes for the last few days as there have been a spike in tourist footfalls this season.
