Goa government on Monday said that Classes VII and VIII will begin physically from November 25 onwards.
Bhushan Saviakar, Director of Education, said that the Board will issue the SOPs needed for the school on Tuesday.
Last week the state expert committee, through the recomendations od the Covid Task said that, it was decided that classes I to VIII should begin offline classes, but however CM and Education Minister Pramod Sawant said that they are still thinking about the classes and would let them know later on.
However the officials said that no information has been out by the government regarding the need to begin classes I to VIII, even when the expert committee doctor have said that it is safe to begin classes even for the Nursery students as the Covid positivity rate is is at an all time low.
The task force said that they are leaving the decision to the school management to take the call on how they are going to conduct the class for the students depending on the school space, infrastructure, its conditions and how many are attending the school.
They also said that the SOPs given should be treated as broadlines and followed well by the management and they should also put in their own instruction also to ensure social distancing and other necessary precautions needed.
The expert committee has also said that the schools are not allowed to have assemblies and have to follow staggered timing.
Staff members are already been told to produce a negative Covid certificate on weekly basis of those who have not been vaccinated and also both the parents of the child are told to take vaccination.
Classes for the students of STD IX to XII students are already on as they are having a combination of online and offline classes
