Twelve days after a labourer was shot to death in Curchorem, South Goa, in an illegal sand extraction case, the police are yet to narrow down the mystery that has engulfed the murder. According to sources, the Curchorem police are still recording statements and cross verifying information gathered on the ground.
Curchorem police have so far managed to record statements of over fifty persons.
The source further informed that the movements of the suspects are being closely watched, and some suspects from Curchorem and nearby areas are under the scanner. Police are analysing CCTV footage recovered from houses near to the scene of the incident.
Mobile locations at the murder sites are being verified to trace the person behind this murder, informed sources.
It may be recalled that the murder of a labourer on August 30, 2022, in Maad-Bansai area of Curchorem shook the entire state of Goa and brought up the illegal sand extraction issue into mainstream debate.
