The stadium has been in the same condition for the last five years and is not completed yet. The locals have demanded that the stadium should be finished soon for young players in Velim.
The stadium has all the facilities required for the players, and all that is left is the construction of a football field.
Benjamin Silva, former MLA of Velim, started the project. Felipe Neri Rodrigues was elected after 2017 Goa assembly elections.
Father Tavares said that t he locals are not able to take benefit from the stadium.
"The work of the stadium did not gain momentum during Felipe's tenure. Silva, however, needs to pay attention and should try to complete the stadium," said Father Alan Tavares
The land where the football stadium was to be built was previously agricultural land. Later, that piece of land was used for events and football competitions.
However, when Benjamin Silva became the MLA, he built a football stadium in the area. This decision received overwhelming support from the people
