
The High Court of Bombay at Goa on Monday asked Goa government to make efforts to expedite the installation of the digital meters in tourist taxis.
The court also asked the government about what precautions it has taken to prevent unlicensed taxis from plying on the roads and how many people it has taken action against. The hearing was adjourned till November 29.
Just 3807 taxis, of the more than 17,000 motor cabs registered in the State, have been fitted with digital meters at the end of the deadline for the fitment process.
